The European Citizenship Training Courses 2007/2008 in numbers
European_Citizenship_7.JPG» Seven hosting National Agencies - a great thanks to all of them!
» UK, Turkey, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Germany

133 participants in total for the first six EC TCs (Germany not included)
» largest course: Denmark (28), smallest course: Hungary (18)
» 88 participants from programme countries
» 45 participants from neighbouring partner countries

A very strong interest from youth workers and youth leaders across Europe
The Partnership received more than 800 applications from Neighbouring Partner Countries for the six Training Courses (double applications included), which shows the very substantial interest from candidates from South East Europe, Eastern Europe and Caucasus to participate in the courses on European Citizenship.
These Courses indeed constitute a unique opportunity for these participants to exchange ideas and possibly to develop future projects with participants from Programme Countries.
In accordance with the regional focus of the Partnership, these training courses indeed brought together participants from all member states of the Council of Europe. In view of this important achievement, the Partnership confirmed its intention to further support the recruitment and participation of Neighbouring Partner Countries participants in the EC TCs over the TCP period 2008/2009.

The selection process for Programme Countries participants was directly managed by the National Agencies. The interest in these Training Courses from Programme Countries candidates seems to be very variable from one country to the other. However, there were 1366 application forms downloaded by Programme Countries candidates at the end of 2007. Even if they did not all lead to formal applications of course, this was also a very good indication of the great success of the training courses on European Citizenship amongst potential participants.
