European Network of Experts on Youth Research

The European Network of Experts on Youth Knowledge was initiated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe in 1993. Since 2003 the network has been co-ordinated within the European Commission/Council of Europe Youth Partnership.

The research network comprises representatives of the Council of Europe member states and the states which are signatories to the European Cultural Convention. Its members are nominated by the national ministries responsible for youth issues and meet annually to exchange information about recent developments in youth research in their respective countries and about international projects in which they are involved. They also receive updates on youth research and youth policy initiatives of the Council of Europe and European Commission, and discuss further development of ongoing and planned activities within the partnership's research branch. In between the annual meetings, the network plays the role of a advisory body to the partnership on issues related to youth research.
