	Professor Erik Amnå - PEYR member                                                      His expert's portfolio Erik Amnå, Ph.D. (Uppsala), Professor in Political Science at Örebro University, Sweden. He coordinates the multidisciplinary research team Youth & Society, built on a longitudinal political socialization study of 13 to 30 year olds in their everyday life contexts 2009-2016. He is involved in comparing migrants’, women’s and youths’ participation in Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey and the UK 2009-2012 (EU FP7). He investigates the school’s role in developing civic competencies by using data on 14 year olds' in 38 countries (ICCS). He is a member of evaluation panels at The Swedish Research Council as well as of the scientific board of the Swedish National Board of Youth Affairs. He has been engaged by Swedish governments as scientific leader and chief investigator on democracy, religion, and cultural diversity, such as the Commission on Democracy 1997-2000. 	Mr Maurice Devlin - PEYR member and EKCYP correspondent                                                His expert's portfolio Dr Maurice Devlin is Senior Lecturer in Applied Social Studies and Director of the Centre for Youth Research and Development at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. 	Ms Mireille Gemmeke - PEYR member                                                        Her expert's portfolio Mireille Gemmeke (1966) is senior advisor and researcher in the youth sector since 1997. She currently works at the department of education and care of the Dutch Youth Institute, a knowledge broker for the youth sector. Her fields of expertise in international research range from (education for) active citizenship to family policy and child care. 	Ms Barbara Giovanna Bello - PEYR member                                                                      Her expert's portfolio I consider myself working «at the crossroad» of three main roads (called « non formal education », « research » and « law practice ») in the field of human rights education and advocacy. Since 1998, I have been involved as free- lance trainer in many seminars and training courses aimed at human rights education both at the local and at the international level. Believing that non formal education and formal education can mutually nurture each other, I completed a Ph.D in Law and Society (January 2012) at the University of Milano (Italy). The Ph.D research focused on the evaluation of the EU anti-discrimination law and policy from the point of view of Roma young people living in Italy and in Germany. This led me to several consultancy and evaluation activities for different NGOs and institutions, as well as to the involvement as researcher in many conferences and seminars across Europe. 	Professor Barry Goldson - PEYR member                                                                His expert's portfolio Professor Barry Goldson PhD has been an academic at the University of Liverpool, UK, since 1993. He currently holds the Charles Booth Chair of Social Science and he was previously Professor of Criminology and Social Policy. He is also Visiting Professorial Research Fellow, Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia (2010-12). He has directed or co-directed numerous funded research projects and he has also served as an advisor/consultant to many national and international studies. At January 2011 the body of his published research output comprises: 14 authored or edited books; over 70 chapters and articles in books and refereed journals; 30 articles in periodicals; 9 published research reports; 9 major submissions (evidence) and invited contributions to parliamentary committees, independent inquiries and international studies and over 150 papers presented at national and international conferences and symposia. 	Ms Lihong Huang - PEYR member and EKCYP correspondent                                               Her expert's portfolio Lihong Huang is a senior researcher at Youth Research Section of NOVA - Norwegian Social Research. She holds a M.A. degree in education from Southwest Teachers' University, China (1996), a M.Phil degree in comparative and international education from the University of Oslo, Norway (2002) and a Ph.D. in international education from Stockholm University, Sweden (2005). Her research has been mainly on young people in education, young victims of violence and sexual abuse, and Youth in Action programme. She has been involved in designing and executing a few youth surveys, sector studies and evaluation projects commissioned by, among others IFC (the World Bank) and NORAD (Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation). Besides that she is skillful in using advanced statistical analysis techniques such as factor analysis and structural equation modelling (SPSS and LISREL), she is a guest lecturer teaching research methods, statistics and applied analysis at University of Oslo. lihong.huang@nova.no

	Doctor Syika Kovacheva - PEYR member                                                                Her expert's portfolio Siyka Kovacheva, PhD in sociology, is Ass. Professor in sociology and social policy at Plovdiv University and Head of New Europe Centre for Regional Studies in Bulgaria. She has held visiting fellowships at the University of Notre Dame, IN, USA; University of Liverpool, UK; University of Wageningen, NL; and University of London, UK. She has participated in more than 20 cross-national research projects and has acted as an expert in several national and European institutions. Her research interests are in the field of youth participation in the social transformation of East-Central Europe, youth transitions from education to employment including unemployment, precarious jobs and entrepreneurship, and the family and housing transitions of young people (including intergenerational relations and young parenthood). 	Ms Ewa Krzaklewska - PEYR member                                                       Her expert's portfolio Ewa Krzaklewska is a sociologist and a researcher. She is affiliated to the Sociology Institute at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, where she teaches courses concerning methodology of the social research and data analysis. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the on the topic of entrance to adulthood in Poland.  She has many academic publications, on topics such as entrance to adulthood, international mobility, youth issues and migration. Ewa took part in several research projects, mostly concerning educational and youth issues (such as ESNSurvey). Other studies she participated in concerned e.g. Bologna Process, social economy, or reconciliation of work and family life, ‘Gender and Economic Choice’ (for the World Bank). 	Ms Magda Nico - PEYR member                                          Her expert's portfolio Magda Nico is a sociologist (2001, New University of Lisbon). She holds a Masters Degree in “Family and Society” (2006, Lisbon University Institute) and is expected to defend her PhD Thesis by December 2011. She has been developing research on the processes of de-standardization of the life course during the transition to adulthood and on the generational and European diversity of trajectories of leaving home. Her interests also include life course research and methods, gender studies and family relations. She is a researcher assistant in ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon, CIES-IUL, and has PhD grant from the Science and Technology Foundation. She collaborated with the EU-CoE youth partnership in 2009 and produced a report on Youth Lifestyles and Living Conditions Across Europe. 	Ms Beatrix Niemeyer-Jensen - PEYR member                                                                           Her expert's portfolio In my academic career I moved from youth work to vocational and on to adult and further education, while the focus of my interest remains life course transitions and before all transitions from school to work. I have co-ordinated a series of EU-funded research projects on school-to-work-transition between 1999 and 2005. 	Professor Elena Omelchenko - PEYR member                                                                          Her expert's portfolio I'm graduated from Moscow State University (degree in Philosophy) and also there completed my Doctorate. In 2005 I’ve conferred the title of ‘Doctor of Sociology’ [equivalent to attainment of Professorial status in the UK system] at Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Sociology (Moscow). In 1995 I’ve founded Interdisciplinary Research Centre ‘Region’, Ulyanovsk State University and I’m leading it till now. From 2009 I’m Professor and Head of Department of Sociology, Higher School of Economics, St Petersburg and also director of the Centre for youth Studies at the same University. I’m working mainly in the field of youth studies, but with very broad focus. I have publications on youth violence, youth drug abuse, ethnic and religious identities, gender issues and sexualities, migration, but my main sphere of interests are youth (sub)cultures. 	Doctor Maria-Carmen Pantea - PEYR member                                                                            Her expert's portfolio Maria-Carmen Pantea, PhD, holds a MSc in Evidence-Based Social Interventions at Oxford and an MA with Merit in Gender Studies at the Central European University. She authored articles on young people living in transnational families, migration, Roma exclusion, transition to work and volunteering. She published in Young, European Journal of Social Work, Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work, Romani Studies and is a referee of several international social sciences journals. Maria-Carmen Pantea served as a consultant for UNIFEM and for The Centre for Strategy & Evaluation Services, Kent. In 2008 she undertook the evaluation of the research and policy strand of the EU-CoE Youth Partnership. At present, she is an LGI OSI Fellow doing policy research on Reintegration Initiatives for Returning Roma Migrants. 	Ms Sladjana Petkovic - PEYR member                                                         Her expert's portfolio I was born and raised in multicultural and multi ethnic environment of Vojvodina (Northern Serbia), and worked in diverse communities of Western Balkans and European Union, so it contributed to develop my interest for diversity management and intercultural learning, as well as for human/youth rights and participation issues. During my academic and professional career, I had opportunity to engage in three areas: in youth work practice as trainer and youth worker, in policy making as developer, implementer and a policy advisor, and in youth research. As a member of the PEYR I am striving to contribute to improvement of cooperation between three within EU and transitional countries. In this regard, I see PEYR as proactive body, in addressing issues of interdependence between areas of practice, research and policy, developing platforms for dialog and cooperation, advocating for recognition of youth research and youth involvement, based on cross area/comparative analysis, and interdisciplinary knowledge. Apart from my academic background, I would like to emphasize importance of non formal education that I gained and delivered to young people or the decision makers working with, in attempt to address complex and challenging transitional realities. I was especially involved in development of social skills and competences of young people and the decision makers in Western Balkans, as well as in promotion of nonviolence, conflict management and transformation, values of non formal education, and citizens/youth activism. I see myself as genuine educator, who is open to share and learn from those working with. 	Ms Dunja Potocnik - PEYR member                                                  Her expert's portfolio I am a sociologist at the Institute for Social Research in Zagreb with background in both policy and research. My main research and policy development areas are: general youth policy, education (especially vocational education and problem of the early school leavers), employment, social structure, inter and intra generational mobility, sociology of profession, IT and networks and science and research policy. My newest research interest related to the youth employment is science popularisation as a mean of enhancing educational and employment opportunities. I have extensive experience in work with the Croatian Government and the youth NGOs in the youth and science policy. 	Ms Kateryna Shalayeva - PEYR member                                                              Her expert's portfolio Dr. Kateryna Shalayeva holds MSc and PhD in Sociology from Ukraine and LLM, joint European Masters, in International Business and European Law from Spain, Netherlands and France. Her background is in women’s movement and academic feminism. Her early scholarly interests included youth life styles determined by gender, globalized cultures in stratified communities, and applied feminist qualitative research. She studied how identities are created, specifically ethnic and national, and researched on identities in conflicts. She looked for solutions against multiple discriminations. Dr. Kateryna Shalayeva is equally experienced in policy research in democratic governance and citizens’ participation, programme evaluation, and comparative analysis of legislation. Her special expertise is in the impact of law enforcement on social structures and social behavior. The expert can be consulted on the issues of European anti-discrimination regulations and European and international human rights protection architectures. 	Ms Leena Suurpää - PEYR member                                                  Her expert's portfolio I work as research director in the Finnish Youth Research Network, Í have coordinated diverse national and international youth research projects with an aim to rethink young people’s life in various multicultural contexts, ranging from leisure surroundings and civic engagement to welfare state structures. I have worked as a visiting scholar in France (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales/ CADIS) during 2009-2010. My on-going ethnographic research project gives a comparative insight into the conditions and modes of civic action in Finland and France, particularly in terms of the fight against racism and discrimination. 	Mr Robert Thomson - PEYR member                                                     His expert's portfolio Robert Thomson provided technical and training assistance within the United Nations system for 17 years and previously was health promotion officer in an international non-governmental youth organization. He now focuses on public policy in regard to international health and on research training. In the academic setting Robert is a faculty member of the Geneva Foundation for Medical Education and Research, teaching in Switzerland and Laos. In the NGO world, Robert is active in the International Federation of Powerchair Football, organising the global activities of this sports association for young people who use an electric wheelchair in their daily lives. 	Mr Manfred Zentner - PEYR member and EKCYP correspondent                                                     His expert's portfolio I studied Mathematics and Philosophy but work as a youth researcher since 1997. My main fields of interest are youth cultures, political participation of young people and attitudes and values. Furthermore I am active in evaluation studies on youth policy and on the implementation of preventive concepts and health promotion in youth work. From 1997 to 1999 I was researcher at the Austrian Institute for Youth Research where I became scientific director in 2000. Since 2001 I work in the fields of research and knowledge transfer at the private research organisation “Institute for Youth Culture Research” (jugendkultur.at) in Vienna. I am also lecturer at various teacher training universities in Austria. Already in the late 1990s I was involved in the network of experts on youth research and one of the national correspondents for the EKCYP since its start. In the year 2007 I was raporteur in the Council of Europe international review team for the national youth policy in Hungary and in the year 2011 I will be raporteur for the international review of the youth policy in Belgium. mzentner@jugendkultur.at
