The “Arab spring: Youth participation for the promotion of peace, human rights and fundamental
freedoms” Symposium will bring together 120-150 policy makers, youth leaders and representatives,
researchers, youth workers and other experts in youth policy from Europe and the Southern
Mediterranean region and from the networks and projects of the co-organisers.
All participants recruited by the partnership between the European Commission and the Council of
Europe in the field of youth should be:
- Professionals and volunteers closely involved in youth policy processes in their youth
organisations and countries, young multipliers closely involved in democratic youth movements in
their countries, leaders of youth organisations having an active role in the developments of the
Arab spring, bloggers and youth workers
- Resident in a member state of the European Cultural Convention
- Be motivated to take full part in the symposium programme and to follow-up its results
- Be able to communicate in English, French, or Arabic.
