CALL FOR EUROPEAN PARTICIPANTS : Symposium “Arab spring: Youth participation for the promotion of peace, human rights and fundamental freedoms”, 27-29 August 2012, Tunisia

The Partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of youth, is pleased to announce the call for applications for European participants for the Symposium “Arab spring: Youth participation for the promotion of peace, human rights and fundamental freedoms”, to be held from 27-29 August 2012 in Tunisia. (Please note that interested persons residing in Arab countries should direct their requests for application to the League of Arab States).

News :

The “Arab spring: Youth participation for the promotion of peace, human rights and fundamental freedoms” Symposium will bring together 120-150 policy makers, youth leaders and representatives, researchers, youth workers and other experts in youth policy from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean region and from the networks and projects of the co-organisers.

All participants recruited by the partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of youth should be:

  • Professionals and volunteers closely involved in youth policy processes in their youth organisations and countries, young multipliers closely involved in democratic youth movements in their countries, leaders of youth organisations having an active role in the developments of the Arab spring, bloggers and youth workers
  • Resident in a member state of the European Cultural Convention
  • Be motivated to take full part in the symposium programme and to follow-up its results
  • Be able to communicate in English, French, or Arabic.

The deadline for submitting applications online: 17 June 2012.

All those interested from the European countries in applying to take part in the symposium are kindly requested to fill in their application on-line at http://youth-partnership-eu.coe.int/youth-partnership/seminars/seminar_18.html
