Call for partners for a Grundtvig Project: ‘’Recognition of competences: from local to European level, and back!’’

By The Partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of Youth

youth-partnership@coe.int

Teaser :
Steunpunt Scouting Gelderlandis a regional office for training and support of leaders in scouting and guiding in The Netherlands. Since 7 years we are involved in projects concerning the validation of non-formal learning. We believe that through voluntary work people can develop a lot of competences that are useful for their job and/or their studies and can strengthen their position on the labour market. Having this in mind Steunpunt Scouting Gelderland is looking for possible partners - volunteer organisations that are involved in validation of non-formal learning in voluntary work, prefarably organisations that are working on two or three levels: local, national, and/or European.

News :

Deadline: 1 January 2010

During the last years we have seen that there have been a lot of projects, conferences, and policy papers, focussing on recognition of competences in voluntary work. Most of these were happening at national or European level. At the same time, in many countries we don’t see that much changes on local level, in the sense that not many local volunteer organisations use the products that have been developed on national or European level.

The goals of this project are:

  1. to get a rough overview of what has been done so far on national and European level
  2. to get an impression of the use of the results on local level
  3. to develop draft criteria and  guidelines for new initiatives, to promote the use of the outcomes on local level.

It will be a 1 year project (Grundtvig Accompanying Measures), and might be the start of a bigger project (Grundtvig Multilateral Network).
