The Youth Regional Network was created in November 2008 in Wiesbaden - Germany for and by young
people. It aims at making closer links between European issues and citizens and puts forward the
importance of assuring youth participation in civic and political life.
During the meeting young participants will focus on the topic of
Youth Employment and identify difficulties they face when entering the labour
market.
The main focus of the third meeting will be to create a tangible means of facilitating the first
employment among all young people in wider Europe. Therefore during this meeting young participants
will have the opportunity to explore various ways of fostering youth employment in their home
regions.
They will also have a chance to
contribute to the first tool helping regional politicians improve their policies targeting
young employees by contributing to the first Youth Peer Review.
At the kind invitation of Euro Disney and the region of Ile-de-France there will be capacity for
150 young participants between 18-30 years old who come from European regions (maximum two young
representatives per region). Accommodation will be provided. AER President Michèle Sabban is kindly
asking regional authorities to enable young people from regions to participate by supporting them
financially (regions are kindly asked to cover the travel costs, or part of travel costs, of young
representatives from their regions).
Deadline for applications is 1st December 2009
