Come in contract

Area : Citizenship, participation and information

Country : GERMANY Location : Berlin

Who implemented the activity :
Project office c/o German Federal Youth Council (Deutscher Bundesjugendring, DBJR)

Aims / Objectives :
Give young people the possibility to invent their own project in which they come in contract with one or more decision makers of their local or regional community

Short description :

"Come in contract" is part of Projekt P, the national campaign for more youth participation. Children and young people are motivated to formulate demands and wishes under the condition that they can see the relevance of their acting and behaviour. By ' signing' contracts with decision makers these contracts shall create a binding commitment on both sides. The contract could constitute a possibility for young people to experience democracy in a direct and perceptible way. Young people could apply for funds until 2004. Now they can get support through tools and materials in the fields of public relations and project management.
