A few words about myself:  Siyka Kovacheva, PhD in sociology, is Ass. Professor in sociology and social policy at Plovdiv University and Head of New Europe Centre for Regional Studies in Bulgaria. She has held visiting fellowships at the University of Notre Dame, IN, USA; University of Liverpool, UK; University of Wageningen, NL; and University of London, UK. She has participated in more than 20 cross-national research projects and has acted as an expert in several national and European institutions. Her research interests are in the field of youth participation in the social transformation of East-Central Europe, youth transitions from education to employment including unemployment, precarious jobs and entrepreneurship, and the family and housing transitions of young people (including intergenerational relations and young parenthood). She is a member of the International Sociological Association, RC 34: Sociology of Youth and the European Sociological Association.
