Organisation: Finnish Youth Research Network

Few words about me: I work as research director in the Finnish Youth Research Network, Í have coordinated diverse national and international youth research projects with an aim to rethink young people’s life in various multicultural contexts, ranging from leisure surroundings and civic engagement to welfare state structures. I have worked as a visiting scholar in France (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales/ CADIS) during 2009-2010. My on-going ethnographic research project gives a comparative insight into the conditions and modes of civic action in Finland and France, particularly in terms of the fight against racism and discrimination. I have worked as an editor in chief in the Nordic Youth Research Journal YOUNG (Sage Publications).
