Hanjo Schild is the co-ordinator of the Youth Partnership joint programme between the Council of Europe and the European Union and works at the Directorate for Youth and Sport at the Council of Europe. Before he has worked as a youth policy desk officer in the Youth Unit of the European Commission, Directorate General for Education and Culture, detached as a National Expert for the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of Germany. Before his detachment he worked as a consultant and project director for a NGO in the field of labour market, education and training, social and youth policies, with a special focus on international cooperation and European programmes. He worked as a director of pilot projects for the social inclusion of young people and as a trainer in out-of-school education. He studied social sciences and social affairs with a special focus on social pedagogy.
