Few words about me: Erik Amnå, Ph.D. (Uppsala), Professor in Political Science at Örebro University, Sweden. He coordinates the multidisciplinary research team Youth & Society, built on a longitudinal political socialization study of 13 to 30 year olds in their everyday life contexts 2009-2016.
He is involved in comparing migrants’, women’s and youths’ participation in Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Turkey and the UK 2009-2012 (
EU FP7). He investigates the school’s role in developing civic competencies by using data on 14 year olds' in 38 countries (ICCS). He is a member of evaluation panels at The Swedish Research Council as well as of the scientific board of the Swedish National Board of Youth Affairs.
He has been engaged by Swedish governments as scientific leader and chief investigator on democracy, religion, and cultural diversity, such as the Commission on Democracy 1997-2000.
He is President of the Swedish National Study Association /Bilda/
