Few words about me: I am a face-to-face youth worker, with experience working with young people from a multitude of backgrounds, in Britain, Spain and Germany. This experience has led me to possess a firm commitment to youth work processes that are centred on the young people.
My experience of working with marginalised young people in Europe has convinced me of the need to close the distance between policy and research on youth people and the realities faced by youth workers on the ground. I have strived to achieve a combination of intellectually rigorous evaluation of the role of youth work practices in today's society with effective and responsive provision that acknowledges the often messy nature of face-to-face work. In particular, I have developed work that explores young people's relationship with their local area in a context of globalised cultural movements.
